Gander Adds Another Mountain
Huntsville Store to Celebrate Grand Opening

SAINT PAUL, Minn., Monday, October 23, 2006 – Gander Mountain, the nation’s largest retail network of stores for hunting, fishing, camping, marine and outdoor lifestyle products and services, is gearing up for the Grand Opening of its new store in Huntsville.  Gander Mountain will open the doors at 8:00 a.m. on Friday, October 27th, to welcome people into the new store.

Extreme bow-hunter Ray Howell will shoot an arrow through a ½-inch ribbon from about 30 yards to kick off the Grand Opening Celebration.  Once that ribbon falls, Gander Mountain’s staff will blow a chorus of goose calls to welcome customers to the store.  Howell’s youth program, Kicking Bear, exposes underprivileged youth to archery and the outdoors.

Other notable personalities attending the celebration Friday the 27th through Saturday the 28th include Bradley Stringer and Dan Moorehead, who will share their fishing expertise and answer customers’ questions.  Stringer, who is an Elite Gander Mountain Pro Staffer and Bassmaster Qualifier, will be at the store from 6pm to 8pm on Friday the 27th and from 10am to 2pm on Saturday the 28th.  Moorehead, also a Gander Mountain Elite Pro Staffer and FLW Bass Champion, will be at the store from 10am to 4pm on Saturday the 28th.

The Grand Opening Celebration promises fun for the entire family.  With a 33-foot giant bass slide for the kids to slide down, an inflatable cabin for younger children to play in, and the opportunity for kids to build a duck call with the pros from Primos, there will be something for everyone at Gander Mountain on Grand Opening weekend.  Giveaways include:

  • Free $10 gift card to the first 100 customers on Friday, October 27th, Saturday, October 28th and Sunday, October 29th
  • Free Gander Mountain Hats to the first 250 customers on Friday, October 27th
Free Gander Mountain T-Shirts for the first 250 customers on Saturday, October 28th
  • Free Gander Mountain Water Bottles for the first 250 customers on Sunday, October 29th
