Gander Adds Another Mountain
Knoxville Store to Celebrate Grand Opening

SAINT PAUL, Minn., September 28, 2006 – Gander Mountain, the nation’s largest retail network of stores for hunting, fishing, camping, marine and outdoor lifestyle products and services, is gearing up for the Grand Opening of its new store in Knoxville.  Gander will open the doors at 8:00 a.m. on Friday, September 29th, to welcome people into the new store.

Extreme bow-hunter Ray Howell will shoot an arrow through a ½ inch ribbon from about 30 yards to kick off the Grand Opening Celebration.  And once that ribbon falls, Gander’s staff will blow a chorus of goose calls.  Howell’s youth program, Kicking Bear, exposes underprivileged youth to archery and the outdoors.

Olympic Gold Medalist archer and Elite Gander Mountain Pro Staff member Rod White will also be attending the Grand Opening Celebration.  White will attend the store from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, September 29th, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, September 30th.  White will provide his insight to customers in the areas of whitetail, bear, and other big game hunting topics.  He will also answer any archery related questions that customers have.

Another notable personality attending the celebration Friday the 29th and Saturday the 30th is Dan Moorehead - a Gander Mountain Pro-Staff member and a professional angler.  Moorehead will devote his time on Friday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. to sharing his knowledge with individuals who visit the fishing department.

The Grand Opening Celebration promises fun for the entire family.  With a 33-foot giant bass slide for the kids to slide down, an inflatable cabin for younger children to play in, and the opportunity for kids to build a duck call with the pro’s from Primos, there will be something for everyone at Gander Mountain on Grand Opening weekend.  Giveaways include:
• Free $10 gift card to the first 100 customers on Friday, September 29th, Saturday, September 30th and Sunday, October 1st
• Free Gander Mountain Hats to the first 250 customers on Friday, September 29th, and Sunday, October 1st
• Free Gander Mountain T-Shirts for the first 250 customers on Saturday, September 30th
The new Gander Mountain in Knoxville is located at 11501 Parkside Drive, Farragut, TN 37934.  The store will be open from 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. on Friday, September 29th and Saturday, September 30th and from 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 1st.  For more information, log on to www.gandermountain.com.
