5,000 Free Gunlocks At Gander Mountain
Project Childsafe to Distribute 5,000 Gunlocks At New Sherwood Store

SAINT PAUL, Minn., June 23, 2005 – Project ChildSafe will be giving away 5,000 gunlocks at the new Gander Mountain on Landers Road this weekend as a part of the store’s Grand Opening Celebration. Beginning when the doors open at 8:00 AM on Friday, June 24th, the gunlocks will be handed out to any customer who would like one.

“We are thrilled to be working with Project ChildSafe in offering these gunlocks as we open our new store here in Sherwood,” said Gander Mountain CEO Mark Baker.  “This is a great way to let the community know how serious we are about firearm safety.  Gander Mountain is proud to lead the industry in offering more Hunter’s Safety and Firearm’s Safety courses nationally than anyone else.”

Last year, Project ChildSafe distributed over 75,000 gunlocks through Gander Mountain stores.  This year, the two organizations plan on giving away over 100,000 gunlocks nationally.
